Welcome to the Supercritical Blog

Welcome to our new blog where we will share updates on development of the Redshift 6 and occasionally dive deeper into various technical subjects!

The first Redshift 6 units began shipping in early December. As some of you have noticed, some features listed in the specifications are not yet included at launch. Rather than rush things out, we wanted to make sure everything we ship is robust and offers great usability. Our focus has also been on building a solid foundation and perfecting the manufacturing process to ensure the hardware is highly dependable.

We aim to roll out all the listed features by summer 2025, though at this point this is just an estimate and subject to change as we proceed with development. Among the most anticipated additions are multitimbrality, MPE (MIDI Polyphonic Expression), arpeggiator and digital effects. You can stay updated on our progress by checking out our public roadmap.

For the first firmware update, scheduled for February 2025, we are planning USB MIDI support, additional modulation destinations and usability enhancements like fine-tuning for parameters. In Spring 2025, the Redshift 6 will gain exciting new engines, including Digital Delay and the Phaser.

We appreciate all user feedback so we have launched a Discord server. It will offer users a space to discuss the Redshift 6 and participate in testing beta versions of new functionalities before their official release, among other things.

We’re also thrilled by the first user reviews confirming that our vision of a sound design beast with great basic sound paired with an easy to use interface is well received. This will serve as a base on which we can build updates for years to come, exploring sonic realms never heard of in an analog synth.

We sincerely thank our customers for their trust and feedback, and promise to keep working to make Redshift 6 even better with each update.
