Redshift 6 Firmware Update 1.3

The big one is here! Firmware update version 1.3 with multitimbrality, our most anticipated feature is now out of beta and free to download. Without further ado, download the manual and grab the update here for:

Notes

Linux

  • You might need to run the updater as sudo depending on serial port permissions

Mac

  • The firmware updater will ask for permissions to access files on a removable volume, you should accept or the update will fail
  • During the update, there’s going to be an eject warning that you can safely ignore
  • Updating might fail intermittently because of a Mac OS driver issue, trying again should help

Windows

  • After you connect the Redshift 6 to a Windows computer with USB for the first time, you might need to reboot before the firmware updater works

Added

  • Multitimbrality
  • Multitimbral factory presets
  • Preset preview: presets are automatically loaded while browsing
  • Amp & VCF envelope ADSR controls now have CC numbers (see manual)
  • Key page now has controls for Low/High key limits

Changed

  • Polyphony & Unison on Parts page now limit each other
  • Parts page now shows how Paraphony is limited by Stack
  • Trigger parameter is now on the Perform page
  • Mod Matrix now scrolls to latest modulation assigned with quick assign controls
  • Note tails are now cut when changing presets
  • Change Character NRPN number because Reaper for example is sending 0, 0 to reset CC/NRPN (see manual)
  • Disable Shift Lock when loading preset
  • Parameter overlay logic tweaks
  • Improve stepped knob response
  • Visual tweaks

Fixed

  • Changing parameters with MIDI now makes preset show as modified
  • Fix perfectly overlapping notes not retriggering
  • Overlapping notes now work as expected
  • Fix crash when modulating Character in the negative direction (and potentially other weird behaviour in modulations)
  • NRPN compatibility fixes
  • Fix buffer overflow when sending a lot of CC messages to the synth
  • Clock setting was shown based on external clock on clock page, even when internal was selected
  • Modulations were being applied to the last parameter modulated when turning a knob with no assigned parameter (such as when turning the top row of knobs on envelope pages)
