Dev Diary #3

Hello world from Jussi, the other programmer working on Redshift 6. My responsibility is everything you can see and touch; my code is reading buttons and endless pots and controlling the LEDs and the screen. It’s also handling preset and autosave storage.

Our first public beta firmware update is now live on our Discord server. This update adds USB MIDI and fixes a potential issue with losing autosave data or presets. Second beta should be arriving this week with a couple more modulation destinations and we’re hoping to get the final update out within a couple of weeks; there’s still a handful of boring things we need to finalize before that can happen. Final updates will of course be released on our web site, no need to join Discord for that.

After the USB MIDI update is out, we’re planning to work on extending MIDI CC support with full CC/NRPN editing and clock support and then our most requested feature, multitimbrality. Watch this space, our public roadmap and our Discord server for updates.
